Reports allow calculations and filters created in one report to be used in another. They can be linked to the original report to so that when the original calculation is changed, the new report reflects those changes, or they can be embedded in a new report to provide the basis for another object.
Report objects are created as part of the report design process. Users create calculations using the wide variety of basic options available. Subject to permissions, more experienced users can generate calculations based on PROGRESS code, sharing the results amongst other users to maximize the benefits of their work. Each report object has a wizard to guide the user through each stage of creation, providing easy-to-follow help on every screen to guarantee the right results. |

Enhanced functionality for every user System administrators can create and distribute reports, alerts, and even complete dashboards to executives at the push of a button using Walkabout's new user management facilities, dynamically defining levels of access to both functionality and data. Users can build personal data catalogues from subsets of the knowledge base and existing queries, sharing information with collegues and publishing the results of their work within departments or company-wide. Developers can work within a PROGRESS environment to build reports, using a combination of code and existing reports, extending the knowledge base on the fly. Executives can create queries, exports, alerts and indicators themselves, or view managed dashboards created for them by the system administrators. |
